The story of a romantic union that had to bid farewell.

As memory runs the film of their love long ago,
A hidden fire between the two of them is the afterglow.
So he approaches and tries to say hello,
But his lips long to speak instead,
What his heart desperately longs to show.
So he walks past her, lest his lips reveal something of another kind,
He’s promised to another face, he seems to say ‘nevermind’.

And she just smiles to herself, wishing she could do something more,
But time’s favour won’t be as merciful to them as it was before.
So she stands there with her new romance, inside she cries,
She looks at him; tears swimming in her eyes.

And for one moment he finds it hard to breathe,
As he despairs not being able to say those three words she needs.
So he turns to go, there’s nothing more he can do,
It’s been six years and counting,
This dream of having her again won’t come through.

And as he turns to leave, he sees the secret she hides; it’s the same as his,
The precious memories of their playful gestures, binding words and sweet kisses.
And now only lonely nights and restless days shall be their guide,
Because sunset evenings and star filled nights can only be relived inside.

And now this pretty girl who was shy from the very start,
Must silently bid farewell to her unforgotten love
Who has cursed them both with an equally broken heart.
